Today is the second day of the unloading week after the New Year's feast. That's why today's menu is... salad! But don't be alarmed! This salad is hearty and, in a way, even legendary! Meet the "Waldorf" salad, first prepared back in the last century, in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York.
boiled chicken breast 1 pc |
celery stalk 200 g |
apples (small) 2 pcs |
mixed salad 100 g |
walnuts 100 g |
HOMEMADE MAYONNAISE: |
yolks 2 pcs |
olive oil 250 ml |
mustard powder 0.5 tsp. |
black pepper |
salt |
Step 1
Wash and dry the mixed salad. Place the leaves in a large bowl.
Step 2
Cut the celery and boiled chicken fillets into thin slices.
Step 3
Peel the apples, remove the core and also slice. Add the apples, chicken and celery to the salad leaves.
Step 4
Chop the nuts not too finely and add to the salad.
Step 5
Mix everything well and dress with homemade mayonnaise.
Step 6
For homemade mayonnaise: Rub the egg yolk with mustard powder and salt. Then, whisking constantly, add a thin stream of olive oil. The mayonnaise should be quite thick.
