If in almost all salads the main ingredients are the main ones (vegetables, mushrooms, meat, etc.), in vinaigrette the first place is always the dressing. Actually, the salad got its name thanks to the dressing.
Beets 200 g |
Potatoes 200 g |
Carrots 150 g |
Lightly salted herring 100 g |
Pickled or salted cucumbers 100 g |
Canned peas 100 g |
Onion 1 pc. |
Rye bread (for serving) 1 slice |
For Vinaigrette sauce: |
Vegetable oil 5 tbsp. |
Grain mustard 1 tbsp. |
Wine vinegar 1 tbsp. |
Sugar pinch |
Salt a pinch |
Step 1
Wash beets, potatoes and carrots thoroughly. Boil the vegetables until tender.
Step 2
Peel the onion and chop it finely.
Step 3
Cut the rest of the vegetables potatoes, beets, carrots, cucumbers into cubes. Also cut the herring fillet.
Step 4
Mix the diced vegetables and herring with canned peas and dress with vinaigrette sauce.
Step 5
Using a cooking ring or a glass, cut out a circle from a slice of rye bread.
Step 6
Top the bread with the vinaigrette and serve!
