This salad was first prepared in 1937, and it got its name in honor of the author Bob Cobb, the owner of a famous restaurant in Hollywood. When he was hungry in the evening, he went to the restaurant's kitchen and assembled a dinner from everything he found in the refrigerator boiled chicken, bacon, celery, eggs, avocado, cheese and lettuce leaves, dressing them with olive oil and mustard. Bob and his friend, Hollywood impresario Sid Grauman, liked it so much that it was on the menu the very next day!

Step 1
Place lettuce on a pizza stone or round dish. tearing the leaves with your hands.
Step 2
Arrange the sliced tomatoes, boiled eggs, sliced avocado and celery in sections around the lettuce.
Step 3
Add the fried bacon strips, boiled and coarsely chopped chicken and cottage cheese.
Step 4
Prepare the sauce by mixing two types of mustard, wine vinegar and olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. Pour into a saucepan and serve with the Cobb salad.
