 
A delicate pasty Mexican appetizer known to the world as refried beans
| red or black boiled beans 400 g | 
| bean broth vegetable broth 200 ml | 
| onion 120 g | 
| garlic 4 cloves | 
| chili pepper 1 pc | 
| lime juice 20 ml | 
| olive oil 50 ml | 
| smoked paprika 1 tsp. | 
| TO TASTE: | 
| cilantro | 
| salt | 
| black pepper | 
| ground zira | 
| chili flakes | 
Step 1
Fry the chopped onion, garlic and chili in olive oil until browned.
Step 2
Add the beans, paprika, salt, black pepper and zira. Fry for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Pour in the lime juice and bean water or stock, bring to a boil and mashed potato the beans into a puree, stirring constantly. Cook until the purée is thick.
Step 4
Serve, drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled with chili flakes and chopped cilantro. Enjoy!
