Vertuta with cottage cheese and herbs

Traditional Moldavian vertuta with salted cottage cheese and herbs

Ingredients


fat cottage cheese 600 g
sour cream 100 g
herbs (basil, parsley, dill and green onions) 100 g
olives (seedless) 160 g
dough 300 g
vegetable oil 20 ml
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste

Instructions


Step 1

Prepare the filling. Beat cottage cheese and sour cream with a blender until smooth. Add chopped olives and herbs. Salt, pepper and mix.

Step 2

Roll out the dough a little, then stretch it with your hands into a rectangular shape. Spread the filling along the long edge of the dough and twist into 2-3 turns. Cut off the excess dough and fold the edges inwards. Then twist the roll into a snail, place on a parchment-lined baking tray and brush with vegetable oil.

Step 3

Bake the vertuta at 175 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve warm. Enjoy.
