Step 1
Peel the potatoes. Boil and mashed potato them, add milk and butter so that you have a soft mashed potato.

Chop the herbs: dill and chives.

Slice the herring fillets and red onion.

Grease a piece of cling film with olive oil. Place the mashed potatoes, herring pieces, red onion and chives on it. Wrap in "rolls."

Remove the foil and roll in the chopped herbs.

Slice the potato and fish roll. Serve on its own or on black bread croutons and garnish with chives.
