Traditional Austrian strudel with apples is served with a ball of ice cream. But we suggest baking strudel with pears and dried fruits, and serving it with the most popular morning food - cottage cheese!
yeast puff pastry 1 package |
pears 1-2 pcs |
raisins 50 g |
apricots 50 g |
walnuts 100 g |
egg yolk |
sugar |
cottage cheese |
fresh mint (for decoration) |
Step 1
Grind walnuts in a coffee grinder.
Step 2
Dice the pear and place on the pastry sheet. Add the apricots and raisins, sprinkle with the ground nuts and a little sugar.
Step 3
Carefully roll up the dough sheet into a roll, using a towel or the foil in which the ready-made dough was wrapped. Pinch the edges firmly and place on parchment paper with the seam facing down.
Step 4
Brush with egg yolk and bake in the oven for 15-17 minutes at 170 C.
Step 5
Slice the finished strudel and serve with grainy cottage cheese and garnish with sprigs of mint.
