Delicious and bright dish with unusual flavor. We recommend cooking herring 1-2 days before serving so that it can marinate well in the port wine brine.

Ingredients


salted herring fillet 2 pcs
onion 1-2 pcs
bell pepper 1/2 pc
red onion 1/2 pc
black pepper peas 1/2 tsp.
bay leaf 1-2 pcs
MARINADE:
vinegar (7%) 200 ml
sugar 200 ml
water 200 ml
port wine 1 cup

Instructions


Step 1

Taste the herring fillets to taste, if they are salty enough, soak them in water for a few hours

Step 2

Mix the ingredients for the brine, stir until the sugar dissolves.

Step 3

Cut the herring fillets diagonally into thin slices

Step 4

Thinly slice green onions, cut onions into half rings

Step 5

Slice sweet peppers into half rings
