A hearty and sassy iconic English shepherd's pie with mashed potatoes and meat

vegetable oil 50 ml |

Step 1
Prepare the meat sauce. Pass the meat through a meat grinder. Chop and fry garlic, onion and carrots in vegetable oil. Add the minced meat, sugar, tomato paste, salt, pepper, thyme to the pasting and mix. Pour in the water, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Place the meat sauce on the bottom of the mold, add butter, and spread the mashed potatoes on top in an even layer. Grease the pie with egg yolk and bake in the oven at 190 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. Serve hot.
