Juicy beef liver with crispy bacon braised in aromatic red wine
| beef liver 400 g |
| bacon 100 g |
| red dry wine 200 ml |
| tomatoes in their own juice 400 g |
| onions 120 g |
| garlic 3 cloves |
| wheat flour 25 g |
| olive oil 40 ml |
| TO TASTE: |
| thyme |
| sugar |
| salt |
| ground black pepper |
Step 1
Fry the chopped bacon in olive oil, transfer to a plate.
Step 2
Dice the peeled liver, mix in a bowl with the flour and fry in the same oil.
Step 3
Chop and add the onion and garlic and fry, stirring, until the onion softens.
Step 4
Pour in the wine, add the crushed tomatoes, thyme, salt, sugar and pepper. Stir and simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 5
Serve the braised liver with polenta, if desired. Enjoy.
