The season for Glühwein - "hot wine" - comes with the first frost. This drink is sold in Europe at pre-Christmas fairs and in squares. In Ukraine, too, the tradition has taken root perfectly well - how can one not love hot spicy wine? But if red wine mulled wine is considered a classic, then I suggest you make it with white wine - with dried fruits, lemon and cardamom.
white wine (dry or semi-sweet) 750 ml
lemon 1 pc
dried cherries 50 g
prunes 50 g
cardamom 3-4 boxes
honey to taste
Step 1
Heat the wine in a saucepan over medium heat without bringing to a boil. Add the prunes, dried cherries, cardamom and a few strips of lemon zest.
Step 2
Warm the mixture over low heat to allow the dried fruit and cardamom to "give" the mulled wine its flavor and aroma.
Step 3
Add a little honey to taste and lemon slices to the finished mulled wine. Serve hot.
