Recipe from Sophia Andreyevna, Leo Tolstoy's wife.
Leo Tolstoy loved this dessert and it can still be tasted in Yasnaya Polyana, the family estate where the writer lived most of his life. The Tolstoy family even had a saying "What is stronger than death and fate? Sweet ANKOVSKY pie!". The recipe was left to Sophia Andreevna by their family doctor Anke, and the whole "trick" of the pie was the lemon cream.
