One proverb says that paradise is an old English house, a Chinese kitchen, a Russian wife and an American salary. Well, let's bring this paradise closer, at least in terms of cooking. Today we'll have a tour of Chinese cuisine and make the famous wontons. These are a type of dumplings (mantes) that are steamed, boiled or fried in vegetable oil.
FOR THE DOUGH: |
flour 3 cups |
hot water 1/2 cup |
cold water |
vegetable oil 1 spoonful |
FOR STUFFING: |
chicken fillet |
shrimp |
green onion |
soy sauce |
pepper |
Step 1
First you need to prepare the choux pastry. Add hot water to the flour, stir well and start kneading the dough, adding cold water little by little. Add another spoonful of vegetable oil for elasticity. Knead well.
Step 2
For the filling, chop all the ingredients in a blender. Add the sauce and a little pepper. The soy sauce will substitute for the salt. Cut circles out of the dough and form the wontons. It's best to steam them.
