Today we will introduce you to one of the favorite salads of Turkey, which is an inviolable element of Turkish feast. Ezme is served in Turkish kebab houses with meat and as a separate appetizer. This appetizer (in Turkish "meze") reminds something of a widespread among the peoples of the Caucasus adzhika. By the way, the word "ajika" itself is of Turkic origin and means "bitter".
tomatoes (large) 2 pcs |
green onions 1/2 bunch |
parsley 1/2 bunch |
pepper paste 1/2 tsp. |
garlic 4 cloves |
hot chillies 2 pcs. |
dried mint 1 tsp. |
salt 1 tsp. |
red pepper 1 tsp. |
juice of half a lemon (or pomegranate juice) |
olive oil 2-3 spoons |
Step 1
Finely chop tomatoes, hot peppers, green onions and parsley.
Step 2
Add the pepper paste, spices and minced garlic.
Step 3
Drizzle lemon or pomegranate juice (nar ekşisi) on top, mix thoroughly and add olive oil. The dish is ready, bon appetit!
