It's a wonderful flatbread, what can I say?! And the filling is just as delicious with tuna and onions. Let's forget about sandwiches and store-bought buns and start baking pita bread at home!
FOR PITA: |
flour 500 g |
dry yeast 8 g |
warm water 300 ml |
olive oil 3 tbsp. |
salt 1 tsp. |
INGREDIENTS: |
cucumber 1 pc |
canned tuna 1 can |
green onion to taste |
mayonnaise 1 tbsp. |
lettuce leaves to taste |
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Add the sifted flour, salt, olive oil and knead into an elastic dough.
Step 2
Cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 3
Divide into small balls, press with the palm of your hand and roll out into tortillas no more than 0.5-1 cm thick.
Step 4
Preheat the oven with a baking tray to 250 C. With the door open, quickly place the tortillas on the baking tray and close it immediately. Bake for 4-6 minutes.
Step 5
Drizzle with water and cover with a towel to prevent them from drying out.
Step 6
For the filling, mix the tuna, finely chopped green onions and mayonnaise. Split the cucumber, remove the seeds and slice into bars.
Step 7
Cut off the top of the pita and open it slightly. Place the cucumber slices in the middle and fill with the filling. Serve on lettuce leaves.
