A bacon-wrapped upside-down potato pie that can be both a hearty lunch and a dinner party

potatoes (peeled) 2 kg |
onions 300 g |

Step 1
Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater. Season with salt and lemon juice and leave for 10 minutes. Then drain in a colander and squeeze out the excess moisture. Season with pepper and dried garlic.
Step 2
Slice the onion into quarter rings. Overlap the bacon from the center to the sides. Spread half of the onions over the bacon. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Place half the potatoes on top of the onions and sprinkle with half the grated cheese.
Step 3
Then place the remaining potatoes and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Spread another layer of onions on top. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Wrap the edges of the bacon inside.
Step 4
Bake the pie at 170 degrees for 75-90 minutes.
