This is something between our usual hot sandwiches and pizza. Simple, no frills, but made of favorite Italian products: ciabatta, tomato sauce, ham and mozzarella.
ciabatta 1/2 piece |
passata or homemade tomato sauce 2 tbsp. |
ham 2 slices |
mozzarella 2 slices |
Dried basil or Italian herb blend a pinch |
fresh basil to garnish |
olive oil |
salt |
freshly ground black pepper |
Step 1
Add olive oil, salt, pepper and dried basil (Italian herbs) to the passata (or tomato sauce). Cut the ciabatta in half lengthwise and brush with the sauce.
Step 2
Place ham slices, mozzarella on top and bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes at 180 degrees. Decorate the finished "pizzas" with fresh basil.
