American apple pie is a classic American dessert with a homemade flavor that family tea parties are unthinkable without.

Ingredients


wheat flour 550 g
butter 230 g
sugar 80 g
ice water 60-80 ml
milk 50 ml
salt 2 pinches
BUTTER:
sweet-sour apples (preferably Granny Smith) 900 g
sugar 80 g
cornstarch 20 g
juice of half a lemon
cinnamon 1/2 tsp.
dried ginger 1/2 tsp.
vanilla sugar 20 g

Instructions


Step 1

Prepare the dough. Mix sifted flour with sugar and salt. Add 200 grams of butter and start kneading the dough. When the butter is mixed with the flour, gradually pour in the water and continue kneading until homogeneous. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave in the refrigerator for 40 minutes.

Step 2

Prepare the filling. Cut the peeled apples into slices, 5 millimeters thick. Drizzle with lemon juice. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, ginger, starch and mix.

Step 3

Grease a baking dish with the remaining oil. Roll out 2/3 of the dough into a 5 mm thick circle and place in the mold so that the edges hang down evenly. Roll out a third of the dough into a circle with a slightly smaller diameter than the previous one.

Step 4

Spread the apples evenly in the mold and cover with the top layer of dough. Pinch the edges and wrap into a tube. Brush the entire surface of the pie with milk and make a few cuts. Bake at 180 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Bon appetit!
