One of the most famous berries in Ukrainian and Russian folk songs is, of course, kalina! Dasha suggests not so much singing as cooking with kalina. However, the folk dish is still kisel.
FOR KISSEL: |

sugar 280 g |
starch 3 tbsp. |
water 2 liters |
cold water 0.5 tbsp |
FOR BREAD: |
buckwheat flour 170 g |
powdered sugar 125 g |
eggs 2 pcs |
buckwheat honey 70 g |
olive oil |
Step 1
For the sour cream: Dilute the starch with a little cold water.
Step 2
Rub the calamus through a sieve.
Step 3
Heat up the kalina juice in a saucepan and pour the diluted starch into it.
Step 4
Add the sugar and bring to the boil, stirring.
Step 5
For the cookies: Beat the eggs with the powdered sugar, add the honey and buckwheat flour.
Step 6
Grease a baking tray with olive oil. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls.
Step 7
Bake for 20 minutes at 160 C.
Step 8
Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
