Step 1
Put the bread slices in a bowl and pour the milk over them.
Step 2
Boil the hard-boiled eggs, peel them and cut them into quarters.
Step 3
Peel and coarsely chop the onion.
Step 4
Peel the apple, cut into pieces that will fit through the blender opening.
Step 5
Pass herring fillets, eggs, onions, apples, butter and maximally pressed bread through the blender.
Step 6
Mix the resulting forshmak until homogeneous, adding a little, one teaspoon of vinegar.
Step 7
Serve on toasted toast, garnished with capers, quail egg halves and chives.
