Pasta with bread crumbs Sicilian cuisine is different from that of other areas of Italy. This is due to the island's history, full of numerous conquerors who brought their cooking ideas to Sicilian cuisine. For example, thanks to the Romans, Sicilian bread was introduced and its crumbs were used instead of cheese and sprinkled on pasta. Over time, what was a forced move due to poverty became a tradition, and now "Pasta with bread crumbs" is a separate dish!
