You can't really surprise anyone with ordinary scones. Another thing is to bake traditional English scones! We suggest serving them with cream and apple jam.

Ingredients


butter (cold) 225 g
flour 550 g
kefir 425 ml
leavening agent 25 g
sugar pinch
salt a pinch
heavy country cream (to serve)
VARIETY:
apples 500 g
sugar 500 g

Instructions


Step 1

Grate the butter into a coarse grater.

Add the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt to the butter. Grind the mixture thoroughly into a crumb.

Add the kefir to the flour and knead into an elastic dough.

Sprinkle a small amount of flour on the work surface and roll the resulting dough into an envelope 2-3 times. The dough should be about 3-3.5 cm high.

Using a glass beaker, cut out the skona buns from the dough.

Place the skons on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Grease the tops with kefir, sprinkle with sugar and send to bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 190 C.

Step 7

Serve warm skons with rustic cream and apple jam.

Step 8
