Varenyky with potatoes, cottage cheese or cabbage is no longer a surprise. But with duck, prunes and apples, you can. And instead of sour cream, try adding a little soft goat cheese to them - the final flavor of the dish will surprise you for sure!
water 65 ml
milk 65 ml
butter (room temperature) 55 g
flour 200 g
eggs 2 pcs
sugar 1/2 tsp.
salt pinch
FOR THE FILLING:
boiled duck leg 1 pc
prunes 100 g
apple 1 pc
salt
pepper
Step 1
Combine milk and water and bring to a boil in a saucepan. Once the liquid is boiling, add the butter, salt and sugar. Pour in the flour and, stirring quickly, make a dough.
Step 2
Remove from the stove and continue stirring with a spoon until it begins to cool.
Step 3
Once the dough is warm — add the eggs one at a time while continuing to knead. Transfer the dough to a work surface and knead with your hands, adding flour as needed to keep the dough from sticking to your hands.
Step 4
To prepare the filling, bake the apple in the microwave or oven until soft. Combine the duck meat, prunes and baked apple in a blender. Blend, but not until smooth — so that the stuffing retains its texture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5
Dust a work surface with flour, roll out the dough and cut out circles. Put the filling on each one and form dumplings. Boil in salted water for 5-7 minutes.
