New York hot dog with caramelized onions.

FOR CARAMELIZED ONIONS: |
red onion 2 pcs |
sugar 2 tbsp. |
olive oil 2 tbsp. |
red dry wine 4 tbsp. |
Step 1
Finely dice the onion and fry in olive oil until browned. Add the sugar and, stirring constantly, caramelize the onions for 3-5 minutes. Then pour in the wine and simmer until the liquid evaporates. Afterwards, transfer the onions to a bowl so they don't burn in the hot pan.
Step 2
Grill the sausages on a dry grill pan until cooked through. Make two longitudinal cuts on the surface of the buns, remove the middles, brush the cuts with melted butter and dry the buns in the oven at 180 degrees for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Assemble the hot dog. Smear the cut of each bun first with mustard, then ketchup, put shredded sauerkraut, sliced pickle, sausage and caramelized onions. Enjoy.
