This traditional soup with pickles has a rather modest flavor, but turns out hearty even without meat.

Ingredients


pearl groats 100 g
pickles 2 pcs
cucumber brine (optional) 1 tbsp
carrots 1 pc
potatoes 2 pcs
onion 1 pc
tomato paste 1 tbsp.
bay leaf 2 pcs
salt, pepper to taste

Instructions


Step 1

Pour water over the pearl groats and cook for 20-30 minutes until tender.

Step 2

In the meantime, finely dice pickles, peeled carrots, potatoes and onions and add everything to the pearl groats. You can also add tomato paste.

Step 3

Salt, pepper, put a bay leaf in the pot. If there is cucumber brine, you can add a glass of brine.

Step 4

Cook the soup for 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are ready.

Step 5

Serve with fresh herbs.
